Worship God for What He’s Done
Worshiping God for what He’s done is an act of thanksgiving. If you can remember how the Pilgrims celebrated getting through the first year in the New World by giving thanks to God. Amidst difficulties and challenges, harsh weather and even deaths through the voyage, they were thankful.
When we are thankful for something someone has done for us, we will often tell others. In a way, we are praising them. Some heroes have had songs and books written about their great exploits.
Well, we have God to thank for all of His love, mercy, blessings, relationships He’s given us, health and healing, jobs and finances, family, etc.
We can show our thanks through active worship. This not only acknowledges that we recognize what He has done in our lives, but it also serves as a witness to others of just how great and loving God is. Even through the difficult times, there is always something to remember to give thanks for. Sadly, the times I have held back during worship was an ungrateful gesture towards Him. However, now, having a relationship with Jesus, I often say “thank you Jesus!” as I worship. Because He has just been that good to me and I want Him and others to know that I appreciate Him.
